Thanks  Dave!  I'm  really pleased with how it went. Hmmm, I  will need two more to replicate that set of pumps behind the engine room in the Sabino you showed.

3 more!   Left to right    Wet air pump, blue bilge pump, red fire fighting pump, and on the port side, a black boiler feed pump.....up in the stern is a locomotive turbine generator running a 36 volt alternator as back up to the batteries on board.......well  that's how is USED to be set up anyway......

Ah, forgot there was a fourth one, thanks!  Its all machinery that visitors up in the gallery above couldn't  see, I didn't know  about any of that till the time I got  in to measure the engine. And ask you questions by email for a year!!

Todays shop playtime was dedicated to getting the display base and nameplates made:

Milled up the nameplate on the CNC machine, outlined ends and V-groove engraved letters on a length of brass bar stock, then used brass-black to darken the letters, and polished off the top with a scotch-brite pad, then sprayed it clear.

Also was a good opportunity to learn more of the tools for the CNC, designed up a copy of one of the Worthington serial number plates. This one was milled into a piece of plexiglass then sprayed gold colored. I used one of their original logos to get the outlines for the winged emblem. They would have had one of these on each pump. Could have 3D printed one, but with a filament printer the details of the logo would not have come out well at all.

I was able to find a real antique bronze plate, similar style, from a seller in Australia/ebay. Its on its way, waiting for the flight from Melbourne. Should make a nice companion piece to the model.
So, just about done, will be getting the base all together and take some more pictures, then will post a 'done' thread over in the showcase. This winter I need to write this one up for the magazine, the editor has already asked for a build article with all the plans. He has built some beautiful Westinghouse style single cylinder pumps himself.

Wow, what excellent pumping characteristics!  3 liters/min if I'm hearing the numbers correctly?  And smoooth...just what you want to keep from getting oxygen into the beer.  Nice looking presentation stand too.  Good to see the pump doubles as a fire hose and squirrel defense installation as well!

Thanks guys!  A very fun project, also enjoyed learning how the pumps work and reading through all the old catalogs.
