That looks great Chris, are you keeping the brass or will it be painted?
Looks very regal sitting there on top of the pump! Beautiful work, Chris! Kim
I really think you should make the force dome removable (bolted flange?) so that it can double as an egg cup...Though I suppose that would just be an invitation for the elves to abscond with it in a beer drinking game...
Been doing some thinking (always dangerous) on the tower clock, thought it could be fun to make it a winding engine... V twin double acting steam engine, gear reduction to a chain drive on the winder. Never done a Joy valve gear so that would be a fun addition. With the V arrangement, a single wider crank pin...
More great parts for the pump! You're getting migthy close now! That WOULD be fun! You'd have to make a mechanism to start it when it was nearly unwound and stop things when it was fully wound. That way it could be an autowind steam engine! Could take a lot of force though. You'll have to gear it down quite a bit I think... Those springs (especially if it's double-barreled) will take a lot of torque to wind. That would certainly add an extra level to the clock design! Kim
It looks fantastic 👍Michael
