Hello Chris, the book with the pictures and drawings is Volume 2.
There's also Volume 1. I don't have the first volume myself, but I could buy it at a secondhand bookstore. It costs around 50 euros.
The first volume contains a lot of theory and calculations.

I have four of his books, excellent references and drawings in them.

Starting in on the mass production of the check valves for the pump section. I will be making 18 of them, two for spare and display outside the finished model, so I have 9 hex rod blanks ready to go, all trimmed to same length to make the following steps easier. I'm using a lathe spider plate in the chuck so they index to the same spot in the chuck so I can bore to the same handwheel settings on each. First step is to drill for the threaded section, same hole size taken up to the inside end of the finished valve:

And then a smaller hole deeper in for the valve stem

The M11x0.75 thread calls for a 10.2mm hole. Thats a drill size I don't have, so I drilled the closest smaller size, and am taking it out to final size with a small boring bar. At the same time, am squaring off the bottom of the hole.

Then tapping the hole to take the threaded section later...

and repeating these steps over and over. And over! So far I have six of the 18 ends done, here are the first four (one at each end of each bar)

Once all are to this stage, I'll set up on the mill to notch in the sides on the upper ends of each one. Its going to take a few sessions to finish these first steps.

Also, last night I printed out the top cover that will go over the upper valves on the pump section. This was to check the clearances for the check valve valves before making that cover in metal later on. It looks like things will clear, but once the valves are installed this will let me verify that. Plus I wanted to see how it will look!

looks like one main section soldering for the top ring and bolt bosses (at least that's the I'd try it) staying with my original valves just to small to go another method..

Possibly,  I  do have another method that I  will be trying...

      Don't throw the printed top cover away after the check valve test fits - it would make a great washup sink for the shop elves' changing room!

Hmmm,  they may be think8ng the same thing, some of my stash of small pipe fittings and valves have gone missing! I'll have to make sure that  they dont paint the printed one brass color and try to take the real one!

Next up on the valve bodies is to shape the upper portion to leave openings on either side and a guide hole at the top for the valve stem. The bars were put into the 3 jaw on the vertical rotary table with a spacer block behind them to consistently position them. Then made passes with an end mill to cut away one side, rotated the table 180 degrees, and same on other side. Then flipped the part around to do the same on the other end.

Here is the pile o parts to that stage.

The bars were then hacksawn in the middle, and each valve body put in the lathe to trim the cut ends back

First handful to that stage...

Lots more to trim, then will start in on the threaded lower sections...

Gotta keep them locked up so they dont become shop elf lunchbox handles!

After a few more play sessions in the shop, the rest of the valve bodies are trimmed to length and done:

Then started in on the short threaded lower sections, which will allow the bodies to screw onto the horizontal plates and also have another hole to guide the valve stem. This way works out much better than trying to thread up to the base of the body, given how short the threaded section on the final valve will be. It also allows the valve and pad to be inserted before assembly. My first attempt at the threading was with round bar, but that kept slipping in the chuck during threading, so I am using a length of hex bar instead.

Also drilling the valve stem hole in the same chucking, to ensure that the hole and the threads are concentric with each other. This picture came out a little blurry, trust me the threads ARE there on the bar!

And a test fit with one of the valve bodies...

So, will move this bar over to the mill to cut in the openings around the center hole. Then back to the lathe to part off, and repeat over and over.

Good progress, Chris!  You're deep in the mass production here. Those valve bodies look great!
