Apparently, Guy Lautard, author of the Machinist’s Bedside Reader books, passed away on 18 May, 2025.

Anyone who has read his books will understand how much he will be missed.

Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not. Both possibilities are equally frightening.

Yes, sadly missed. I have all of the Bedside Reader books here nearby, and less than a week ago recalled a tip that got me out of a scrape.  --Tim

I too have enjoyed and learned from his books. He will be missed, but his contributions live on.
