The bearing block and cap has worked out really nicely, looks more in keeping with the engine

Great looking bearing block, just like the full size ones.

I did some work on the cylinder.

On one side, the holes were too close to the edge of the cast iron. I replaced the missing material with a sheet metal plate and initially sealed all the holes with screws and glue.

A piece of gray cast iron is available for a new valve body. A new cover for the valve body was also made. I could drill new holes tomorrow.

Since it's raining too much here, I can work in the workshop.
The cylinder is being covered with wood.
Some parts are back in place. The aluminum base plate has been given a wooden base. The oiler on the cylinder is an old part from my collection. The ball regulator is from the Chinese man. Last year, there was an offer on AliExpress for only 46 euros, so I had to try it out.

Great job Michael, looking fabulous. You must have some good bits in your oiler collection. :D

Do you buy the wood in strips already cut to thickness and trim to length; I'm not sure I'd have the skill to get them to correct thickness!
Best regards

I use wood from parquet flooring.
When my father still had a wood and parquet flooring company, there were often leftover pieces of wood. They were then cut to size on a circular saw.
I can't even tell you what kind of wood I used for the cylinder. It was very hard.

What a coincidence - I have some old parquet flooring pieces from our house, they are Burmese Teak. I was going to use a few of them for the base of an old engine to look like flooring, but might use some for the cylinder lagging on another engine - thank you!

Thanks Chris, Sanjay, and Per.
I just need to make the connection to the slider rod. And the long slider rod needs support to the frame. We'll see how it can be done.

That's looking really nice! Getting that bent rod just right must have taken some skill.

A piece of cast iron from the scrap box is perfect for guiding the rod.

I got lucky when measuring the distances, and it fit right away.

Very nicely done, the support looks like it was made for the engine especially with the oiler

That worked perfectly. All the proportions are great!
