Open house at my vintage tractor club
« on: May 19, 2025, 04:50:42 PM »
Yesterday, my vintage tractor club held an open house workshop.
The theme for visitors was demonstrations of historic chainsaws, circular saws, and band saws.
Some old stationary engines with leather belts were used again.
On this occasion, I also demonstrated my Amanco Hired Man, built in 1921, with approximately 2.25 hp,
and my Stuart Sandhurst (150 cc and approximately 0.66 hp).
I also drove my vintage tractor (Kramer K12V) along the field paths a few times with some guests.
Almost no one knows what it's like to drive a 75-year-old tractor with a flywheel engine anymore.
Attached is a short YouTube video with a brief overview of the event.

What an interesting event.  I have a large Kirchner Horizontal Frame Saw, which I acquired around 15 years ago. It's age is around 1910 and will cut logs about 1 metre in diameter by around 7 metres in length into boards sawn through and through. Kirchner were based in Leipzig, Germany.
My saw worked all its life in the North of England in Ambleside at Lake Windermere cutting boards for the manufacture of boats.

I would be happy to see a photo of the Kirchner horizontal saw.
