Very fascinating motion!

It'll be interesting to see how much difference changing that middle piece will have on the engine.  It seems like it will improve it significantly to get those little links more in line with the cylinder rod travel.

That's a lovely looking engine, with a hypnotic movement - well done, grand job! :)

Here is the Musgrove with some changes I hope make it run better, I got a heavier fly wheel as the first one was only 260grams and seemed a bit light so I bought one made of Zermak which is 700 grams and was easy to machine. Timing is tricky with this engine so I found fitting a tube to the exhaust and holding it to your ear lets you hear the valve opening.

Great work!

Kim:
Very cool!

The wider triangle middle piece does change the motion quite a bit, doesn't it?  Interestingly, the little black connector (between the triangle and the piston rod) on the right side wiggles around a lot more than the one on the left side.  And I think the larger flywheel really makes a big difference too.

Well done!
Kim
