Thanks all, I'll get the supports and base made now I know it actually works

Excellent :praise2: :wine1:
A tailstock die holder is a good thing to have :) I have made a couple in different sizes.

I took it apart to work out how to make supports and pipe the air in and now I can't get it to run again  I think I know what the issue is though.

After a few sessions over the last few days I've finally got the engine running again (intermittently). So, decided to carry on making the supports. Roughly sawed 4 pieces of 3/4"x1/8" steel to shape, glued them together and filed them to final shape. Drilled all four together (the hole in one one came out fractionally different but no big deal) then filed out the full recess in each and cut the bottom part to size. I plan on temporarily pinning the bits together for soldering. The last pic shows the supports placed without the bottom bits (the left ones are twisted out of position in the photo) just to see what they'll look like. Seems ok.
