Solid Edge 2025 assembly tutorial

(1/7) > >>

A7er:
I recently installed SE 2025 and I am trying to learn the assembly process. I can't even get started! In a previous version of SE, the last one to have a horizontal toolbar instead of one that floats over the spot you're trying to work on, saving a file as an assembly was fairly simple (oh how I wish I still had the installation file!). Now when I try to save a file as an assembly it seems to lump all the parts together. I must be missing something. Searching for tutorials on the tube finds everything but what I want. Can anyone get me up and running? Walking will do, crawling even. :old:

I'm still running SE2024 (CE) on my main system with some time to go on the licence. My back-up system also has SE2024 running but was an earlier install, so has less time left on it. If I get time, I will update to SE 2025 on that system and try an Assembly.

What was the last SE version that you used and what theme did you select on installation - the (default) "Balanced" one ?

A7er:
I think it was SE2019, it had the ribbon bar across the top. I have installed each upgrade as they are released and just select default.

I updated my other system last night, which took quite a while to download and install.
By the time it was finished I was already in my PJs and heading for bed, so I just turned the machine off.

I'll try an 'Assembly' in SE2025 this evening and let you know how I get on.

IanT

A7er:
I posted my query on the SE forum a few weeks back. The reply was 'multi body publish'. I had been looking for a 'save as' option. I have produced a very (very) simple animation of an engine. Just a crankshaft, conrod and piston. So I am learning the basics slowly.
