New member from Germany

Hi everybody

Hi to everybody.

Just joint recently and am amazed of the projects going on here.

I for myself am a tool and die maker by profession but shifted to office work years ago.

So chip-making is restricted to my home workshop.

And since everyone likes pictures here we go:

the J.G.Weisser lathe dates from 1956 and has a clutch so gears can be changed without power being switched off. Very handy

Deckel FP1 mill is a real classic in Germany and very versatile. If you have the appropiate accerories.

The dirt department with several grinders and my vertical bandsaw dating from 1938

And my latest acquisation is a Dixi lathe featuring variable transmission
If anybody has any information on this machine I would be grateful to here from you. Dixi still makes drills and cutters but info on their lathes are scarce to say the least.

Norman

Welcome!

The Dixi lathe: Have you looked at lathes.co.uk? The archives on that website includes Dixi but Tony Griffiths, who owns the site, does request more information.

There is no such thing as a stupid question.

Hi Dave

That engine is not a Stuart but probably a copy.
The painted parts are alminium, no castings.
Unfortuantley I do not remeber from who the plans where.

It runs very nice and slow on compresed air.

Are you currently building something or are you about start on an engine?

Yes I am building the 9 Cylinder radial that Jung designed.
Most work is done but still a long way to go.
Some small alterations but mostly following the plan.

Hello Norms,

welcome here to the forum. The green steam engine looks very good and I have never seen this design before. What area are you from?
