Ekkehards workshop
« on: January 05, 2025, 06:31:13 PM »
Hello all,

after my introduction a few days ago, I would like to show some pictures from my workshop.
I have had this workshop for over 30 years now, and it has already gone through several evolutionary steps.
I let the pictures speak for themselves.

Regards
Ekkehard

Beautiful shop you have there.  As Dave said, you have used your space very efficiently!

Looks like a very relaxing place to spend a lot of time!

You make me very envious of your fine workshop. Whats that hiding under the plastic covers? Looks like a high speed launch.

Awesome shop! Everything is so neat and it's very well equipped. It's obvious that many of your tools have been modified to suit your needs.

I suppose under the plastic cover is a model ship.  It looks like your mill has been CNC'ed?  Also, can you described that very interesting watchmaker's lathe?

Also, can you described that very interesting watchmaker's lathe?

This watchmaker's lathe is home made. When I started building the ship model in year 1996, I needed a small lathe to make all these tiny parts.
From a friend I got the rough dimensions of the lathe and the rest is just doing. If you have a bigger lathe and a milling machine, you can build a small lathe.

It is a ship model, more precisely a submarine-hunter from Polish navy (GDANSK class). The active time of this ship was around 1950. Scale of the model is 1:20, total length 190 centimeter.
Lather this year I will complete it. So once it is finished, I will post some more pictures.

Regards
Ekkehard

Hi

I am not really into model boats, but that is spectacular.

Awesome model ship!  Thirty years is a long time to stay interested in one project.

I like how that big toroidal transformer is on display in your watchmaker's lathe speed controller plus shop made QCTP & holders.  Very impressive!

Thanks for posting the very interesting photos of your highly impressive and well ordered , attractive workshop.  The lovely watchmaker's sized lathe that you have made, and the detailed and immaculate model ship, are a great testimony to your skill in making full use of the excellently thought out workshop.
