Steaming the 2" Clarkson

(1/1)

scc:
Happy New Year everyone!       Today I was persuaded to extract the little boiler that I bought some years ago and lash it up to my single cylinder Clarkson that was finished and left on a shelf at a similar time.   Convinced that the boiler was nowhere big enough, the connection really was a lash up.  We warmed the engine thoroughly with a hot air gun and blew some steam through the boiler pipe before connecting.  Surprise surprise the engine turned over with 45psi on the guage and ran for a few seconds before running out of steam. The Charlesworth and /or the table engine with their smaller cylinders would have been more suitable but both are put away under glass cabinets. Anyway some good fun was had and that's what it's all about :)
Yes I know leaks...knocks...etc.  may get fixed one day            Terry
