Thanks, George. I poked around and found them, Without your heads up I'd have never known about them

Yes, that and another one. Sorry I didn't post the links but I figured they would be easy enough to find.

Thanks for posting the link. I apologize for not getting many of your engines and models in though George. Your table was understandably busy and I lost a lot of files that I shot that day.

Youtube makes it difficult to find the smaller channels. It’s vexing - expanding the channel is very hard work and doesn’t yield many results without constantly pushing out updates on every social media platform there is - which is a time suck I have no interest in.

Anyway - I thought Indiana was a top notch show. There were a couple of talks - one by Gary Martin of Martin models which was absolutely brilliant. Inspired me to buy a complete set of his Mery Engine Castings. (He’s a good salesman but more importantly is a top notch craftsman)

I’ll do better on the camera work next year.

I was on Youtube last night and I saw that there were several new videos posted of the Indiana model engineering show. Some nice coverage.
It was nice to meet you at the show and to see your and many others very good models in such a pleasant environment.  The club putting on the show did a really great job for only being the second show they have done.  If folks want to go a show to see and talk with exhibitors without being buried in auction promotions and masses of pushy people this is a great show.  I hope they are able to put it together again, and if so I will go even though it's two days more travel than Cabin Fever.

Just understand it isn't a vendor fest.  No junk tools, fudge, pretzels, RC stuff which is great, but also no PM Research, Little Locos, or many of the others you may be used to being at shows.  Maybe this will change, maybe not.  This year at least had a lot of the feel of the first few Cabin Fever shows where the model engineering was firmly at the fore.

Cheers,
Stan

It was really good to spend hours talking to other enthusiasts just talking engines, machining and fabricating. Because of the refined vendor attendance, those discussions included them as well. All very unhurried and in depth. Really good - the sort of discussion I have been looking for for years but had not found. So I certainly hope they can put the show on again.

Hi Stuart, thanks for putting up those videos.  It looks like a great show with a very interesting range of different models.

I am sure we will all be interested to see which castings you did or didn’t buy.  And hopefully there will be a build log or two in due course.

Hi MJM - thanks for looking in.

It was really enjoyable - I met lots of very fun people. I picked up a set of Mery Engine castings:

https://www.martinmodel.com/products/mery-engine-casting-set

I'm looking forward to that in the fullness of time. Next up will actually be a beam engine - I'm very close to finishing repair of my mill, so once done I will start a beam engine and also a bar stock engine. I have decided to run 2 engines together. I will likely film the builds and show them on my youtube channel.

Hi Folks,

It was a really nice show.  Not a vendor / auction fest, not full of unrelated stuff.  Very much like the earliest cabin fever shows where the focus was on the exhibits and people.  The club members did a superb job, the show ran very smoothly for only the second year they have been holding it.  I hope the show will continue, and that I'll be back for it.

Hi Stuart, that casting set should make up a nice engine.  I do hope you will post a few pictures here as well as on U-tube.  I know that I for one am often data and time limited so I rarely watch videos of any length.  I get more out of still pictures and open and enjoy all the pictures people post.  I also look forward to seeing what you build from barstock.

I hope the mill refurbishment is going well, and you will soon be back to building engines.

Hi Stan, I completely agree. A really nice show with complete model engineering focus.

MJM - thank you. I very much appreciate your interest. Once I get up and running I’ll post a build log. Mill repair is going very well - I kind of overdid it but have learned lots in the process. Currently I’m machining a new pulley for the belt drive because they are not obtainable any more. A bit of an exercise but very enjoyable.
