That's great to see you're already moved into your new home, Ron.  And most importantly, of course, your new shop!

Have you got the new lighting installed in the shop yet?  There's clearly some additional lighting in the corner with the benches!

Hello Ron,

Welcome to your new home  :hi: :hi: :hi:

I see your VW beetle also made the journey.

Hi Ron

Good to see that you made it, and are starting to get your shop setup. What part of Oregon did you relocate to?

Thank you for the good wishes guys. We are mighty pleased with the house, the neighborhood, and the surrounding area!

There might be a plug in anti-entropy-increase device available on Amazoon...
I seldom go there but since our mortgage agent sent us a gift card maybe I should look!

Looks like your shop elves are doing arial recon in that little plane, to figure out best locations for benches and tools...
Trouble is, they keep flying into the wall.

Replaced one of the two existing single bulbs with that pair of LED shop lights. Just hanging from some existing hooks for now, but already a huge improvement.

Yes, Frau Blau was hauled up on a rented trailer that weighed almost as much as her. The only drama was when a Pronghorn (shades of the Oregon Trail game!) decided to cross the highway right in front of us. Good job I saw it early and the trailer had decent brakes.

Smallish town of Lebanon, in the bottom third of the Willamette Valley.

I have been through there, I worked over in Corvallis for 3 months at HP back in 1997. We were moving inkjet cartridge manufacturing lines from there to Boise. Nice area except for the rain. ;D
Don't forget the Great Oregon Steam Up at Brooks, last weekend in July and first weekend in August. If you have never been there, it is about nine miles north of Salem just off of I-5, definitely worth the trip.

Ron,
Glad to see the move went well, good to have willing kids and grand kids to help unpack! Back in the day I had a 69 Bug! as for the scout plane.

I think you need to cut off Chris's supply of Elfsteiner beer that way they may avoid putting dents in the wall!

The show in Brooks is definitely on the to-do list; Thanks for the reminder though, Dave. We lived behind the "Redwood Curtain" in coastal N. CA for 12 years, so a little rain doesn't bother us too much!

Hello Art, and Thanks. Ours is a '67. Unfortunately, I think trying to cut-off the Elfensteiner supply would be about as effective as the Revenooers trying to cut-off the Moonshine trade.

Ron

Looks like a nice shop area, Ron!  Good to hear from you again.  You're a bit closer to me now, still out here on the left coast.

The new shop in the garage of our new house in our new State is now pretty much set-up, reasonably organized and fully functional. :cartwheel:

In addition to the Taig lathe and mill, grinders, drill press, etc. I was running before, I now have room for some of the things that were in “hibernation” at the old place. These include a blacksmith's post vise (estimated mfg. date somewhere from 1880's – 1920's), a shop-made (by someone else) woodworking leg vise, and most importantly, my 1946 Montgomery-Ward 11x37” wood lathe, still with its original 1/3 hp reversible motor.

Ron

Thanks guys!
I'm looking forward to getting back to the engine now that the dust is starting to settle a bit. Hosting friends for a few days this week though. Going to be fun, but will keep me otherwise occupied.
Regards,
Ron
