Still missing parts for the crankshaft, the front and read extension.
Rear is the gear train.
A modified Mädler gear is part of it, so first the modification is necessary to make a matching shaft for it.
It should be fitted by a later press fit an a pin.
And as always, a fixture was needed to grab it.
But at the end no big job to make a bigger, 6 mm reamed, center bore and to machine the flange of.
Unfortunately, I have been distracted a bit, when I have prepared the cutting of.
And a the the end I have had a very nice part with all dimension very tight to the requirement, but exactly 1 mm to short.
So I had to make it again, now with right length and we have a nice part as a sample for the next show now.
Kind Regards
Achim

The front shaft is a bit more tricky, than the rear one.
It has 4 places with should be machine very accurate and in one set up.
It is made by ETG 100 also.
The pictures should be self explaining, one time I have tried to make a nice surface by an old used insert.
Learned again, it does not work, but he new one was fine.
The time the parting off was fine and by flipping over it could get its final length without making it again.
tbc...

For orientation, in marks, what was required and above what could be archived.
Sample assembly was good too.
Now it was time to make the additional 2 pin holes into the last web and the new shaft.

Also here sample assembly was fine.
Now we are very close to the point of truth.
I should try to assemble the crankshaft in the crankcase.
Kind Regards

What should be fit to each other at the first picture.
The main bearing blocks has been tighten by 1 Nm.
The two front bearing flanges assembled with the front shaft.

For orientation, the CAD picture, at the end there 8 bearings in one line.
Last the rear shaft with its bearing flanges assembled too.
The gears is still not pressed to the shaft.

And here we are now, at the end of this day, I can`t believe it by myself, but the entire story is still movable.

Nice progress!

Dave

Hi Dave, thanks.
It gave me the push to order some material for the cylinders and liners.
And some glow plugs, which was a financial adventure.
I have found somebody in Germany also, who is familiar with glow plug systems, he will make me a relevant heater system, which will suite to these 12 cylinder application.

Roger, thanks.
These little torque wrenches are from company Hoffmann, one of the biggest German industrial tool supplier.
https://www.hoffmann-group.com/GB/en/houk/p/211750-0%2C2
I am sure it is well known in Switzerland also.
These wrenches are offered as special tools to fit cutting inserts.
It should be available in Swiss at
https://www.hoffmann-group.com/CH/de/sfs/hoffmann-group/standorte-und-partner/sfs-unimarket/e/117060/
Should be around CHF 15 plus VAT, each size.
