As it does not seem to be covered yet, I can do the Saturday. I can take the camshaft grinder, and it would be useful to be able to plug it in. I think I can get a PAT done at our local Repair Cafe.

Hi Mike.
I trust that it will be OK to change my mind on the dates? Thursday and Friday please. I'm happy to stay overnight.
Thanks
John

Charles, good to hear from you. I will pencil you in for the Saturday and add the electrical supply onto our stand requirements.

John, moving you to Thursday and Friday is not a problem. Everything is flexible at the moment.

I just wish we had a few more members able to attend. We are very thin on the ground.

Yup. I am not very keen on the idea of doing a day single handed.

Hello Charles

Nobody would want to do a whole day single handed, for obvious reasons.

At the moment it looks like we can muster two members for each of the four days. However, I still wish we had a few more members able to attend. We are very thin on the ground, should anyone be forced to drop out.

BTW. what is the space requirement for your camshaft grinder?

Hi , I will be going with the Norwich contingent on the Saturday and could take a couple of models on the bus ?!! I have just seen this post and will have to contact the committee to see if we are going ...we used to go on a 56 seater bus but lately we can only muster about 12.-15 people I thought the show last year was great and actually missed out on some of the stands ...will keep you all informed after I have spoken the club ....

Hi Mike,

I think it's great how you take care of the exhibitors. There's definitely a lot to organize. I hope you get enough people together and it will be an unforgettable exhibition.

Thank you Michael,

Organising any show is a bit like pulling a tiger by the tail. Once you start pulling, you have to keep pulling, no matter what happens.

Why not swim across, you would be very welcome

Mike,
Hope you are keeping well.
I hope to be able to attend and would try and do two days, possibly the Friday and Saturday.  As you may remember from one of my earlier posts I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer about a month ago and I am currently waiting for surgery.  It is hoped this might occur for end of July.  So really it all depends on date of surgery and the speed at which I recover.  I understand carry heavy things can be a bit awkward.

Assuming all is well I could bring the following?:
Redwing 1/4 scale hit and miss
Robinson 1/2 scale Hot Air engine (Alyn Foundry)
Alyn Foundry CHUK2 Flame Licker
Possibly a couple of much smaller items - Stuart 10V Steam Engine, Elmers no.19 Standby

I realise this is not cast in stone but hope this helps.

Regards,
Colin

Hello Colin,

That's great news that you hope to be able to attend.     We all hope your surgery goes well and you recover quickly. Don't worry about lifting and shifting things at the showground we will be there to give a hand.

I have been talking with the show organisers and they seem determined to help our MEM presence in every way. We will have two tables with carpet covers and drapes, chairs and an electrical supply (sorry no kettles allowed) Also they will provide two security loops and alarms, so leaving the models overnight should not be a problem. They have allocated a perfect position in the smaller hall where the lighting is better and there is more space for visitors to our stand to accumulate. They have also worked out a streamlined way to book in/out or models each day and issue the passes. They have never done that much before. We need to arrive early, before 9am each day, book in the models and be up and ready for when the doors open at 10am

I have had a really super response from the our MEM members. It looks like we will have two, sometimes three, members exhibiting their models on each of the four days and also offers of help to man the stand for an hour or two from several non exhibiting members. That will give the main exhibitors a chance to visit the loo, have a bite of lunch and take in some of the show. There should be plenty of models and tools on display, so we may need to shuffle things around each day to accommodate them all on the two display tables.

There are a mass of forms and lists of exhibitors and their engines yet to be compiled. These can wait for a few more months, to let things settle. The main thing is we have the basis of an outline plan and hopefully every prospect of a very enjoyable show. I will give you all an outline of the planned attendance sometime next week.

Cheers for now

Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the invitation, but I think the English language would be the biggest problem for me.
I'm happy that I can participate here in the forum with Google Translation.
(I always hope that it is easy to understand)

Michael
