Double Barreled Boiler from Stan Bray Literature
2E26:
For the engine parts I've soft soldered, I do the same thing.

2E26:
My silver solder came in today. It's Harris safety-silv 45, 1/16" wire. I also got some Sparex 2, which will go well for pickling the parts before soldering.
Next I need my flux (arrives next week) and some bronze bar to make bushings. Once that happens, I'll evaluate my plans for the end plates on this boiler. In addition to the resources already provided, I have a good book by Alex Weiss that contains boiler calculations. His boilers are much larger than the boilers I intend to make.

2E26:
For those encouraging me to get thiccer copper for the end bells, fear not. I have purchased some copper discs from the auction site we all know and love. The discs are all 2mm in thickness. For this project I got four with 35mm diameter, as well as two with 55mm and two with 80mm for some larger pipe I have lying around. The larger endplates are to be flanged and held by rivets. I also bought a half inch rod of bronze the last time I ordered metals, to make bushings.
It's clear to me this boiler won't be capable of extreme power, but I'm probably going to make a bespoke engine to pair with it. I'm thinking a V type oscillator with two cylinders, perhaps with cylinder bores of 8mm (5/16"). Maybe not for a boat, but maybe to run a fan or a small motor for some DC. I could set it up to electroplate nickel onto other parts I machine.
