Well Jim made quite a number of winning Engines - so I think its fair to say that he had a lot of experience ....
One of the kind of golden rules is - Don't fix it, if it ain't Broken
Funnily enough - all Ball-Bearings has their highest alow-able RPMs in a Oil-Fog off very tiny droplets ....
Offcause using Needle-Bearings is better for the Pistonpin / Rod interface - but where would you get something usefull down in these sizes ...?
All that said - the size and shape off the Hole(s) to let the Oil in is important !!!!
But I haven't got any usefull experience in this area .... sorry.
