Hello Per,

it's a Simson SR 2.
Built in 1959. The previous owner has already restored a lot and there are still a few small things that need to be worked on.
I learned to drive a moped like this when I was 14 years old.

Ah. the name Simson rings a bell – Interesting Hand-Grip for lifting it :)

Well, we were envious - Most Europe have the rules about 14 for a 50cc Moped and 16 for a 125cc MC for much longer than I can remember. In Denmark it has varied between 15 and 16 over the years for a 50cc Moped + it requires a driving license for those born after 1980 (I think). 125cc is 18 years of age - glad I was born years ago in that sense - but a bit envious about the really great little bike you can get now-a-days.

From time to time, I think about getting an old S.C.O. 1 Gear (36cc) that I started on as a 12-year-old (my parents didn't know) - but the prices today are ridicules …
That little Engine was known to reach 250000Km on the Odometer without any service done to it, as long as you remembered to always fill her up with Pre-Mix (that oil lubricated the Primary Drive too) + didn’t abuse the Dry-Clutch. Of cause you still had to change Tyres, Chains and Light-Bulbs over the years.

Per

Unfortunately, I haven't finished the construction work on the farm yet.
One of my workshop elves, Herbert and his helpers, are not making any progress!

When I saw that picture of Herbert down the hole, working, I thought all the managers were there to tell him that they had to make some savings in manpower and he, Herbert, was being laid off!

Farmer is outside, sees a road crew working their way down the road. One guy digs a hole. they wait a minute. Second guy fills in the hole. Third guy smooths over the dirt, and they move down the road a ways. The farmer goes over and asks what they are doing. They tell him the guy that puts the post in the hole is out sick...
