Excellent  :praise2:  :praise2:  :wine1:

It's surprising how different the engines are on the same ship. I guess they are 'standard' models chosen from catalogues for the different duties.
Best regards

Roger

always a pleasure to watch all these moving parts at this kind of engines.
Very well done.

Kind Regards

OH, I can just see the future build list now.....
1) Working scale Glomar Explorer RC Sub rescue vehicle, with working sonar, underwater grapple, lights, and cameras - because you have to be able to find the sub you're going to rescue.
2) Live steam RC TID tug rescue boat  - just in case the Glomar Explorer needs a little help.  (Stupid pondweeds.)
3) Folding Kayak, just in case rescue Options 1 AND 2 need help.
4) An RC flying sub for the elves, in case you get up the creek with Option 3 and lose the paddle.

Judging by the build-rate of your last few projects, that oughta keep you and the elves busy - for a total of about 2-1/2 weeks.

Oh, and by the way.... congrats on the mostly completed but fully operational Kersarge Windlasses.

I still think that you initially had the scaling on the chain correct.  My theory is the elves modified your order to use the Shrink-O-Matic option for reducing shipping costs.  That would leave you with more funds that they could then BORROW for a beer run.  They just didn't read the fine-print stating that first time Shrink-O-Matic users ALSO need to order the Enlarge-O-Matic ray gun.

You been peeking in the window at my design bench?

Already have full size kayaks/canoes, so '3' is covered. Same for RC tugboats! And NO WAY am I making it possible for these elves to fly! Nope. Not going to! Imagine the carnage...    :paranoia:

I think you are correct. On some of the plans, they do mention the name of the company and the model number of the engine/etc. Things like capstans too. Some things are custom, but they did use a lot of standard items.

Now THATS some proper massive stud link anchor chain! Just arrived, ready to be installed in a loop on the model. I will need to enlarge the holes in the back side of the display base slightly for the loop to go through, the ones under the chain drum in the center are fine as is. Much happier with this chain, the first one just looked odd but it didn't click as to why - once I double-checked the original blueprints it all made sense.

That chain looks fantastic! It's truly amazingly what you can have made for you nowadays which is good as I think one would go crazy trying to make it link per link.

Looks great Chris!
I have found that stove polish works pretty good to give the MJF parts a nice black finish. It is a bit of a job to apply and rub in though.

      The chain looks just right now Chris!

Was it made by F. Athom and Co. or the Davy-Jones Chain and Cable Works ?
