I have been checking the dimensions of the valve and eccentric travels and also the total length for the eccentric rod and the couplings.. this works out at 1.822" so something to work to .... I have also re-tapped the bottom of the valve rod to 8BA and used the spring that preloads the die as the rod is stainless steel that is quite tough to thread ...

I have made the valve rod fork and have been checking out the correct dimensions to connect the valve motion to the eccentric travel ......so these are the final parts apart from all the tidying up and the port connections ...

Thanks Per. and the conrod is turned up from a length of brass hexagon and filed up to fit the eccentric strap and the valve rod fork part . the the eccentric strap holes have to allign with the conrod so it is drilled the tapping sizes first. the conrod is then drilled and connected to the strap part and then the other hole is drilled through from the strap with the tapping size drill then removed and opened up to clearance size. the other hole on the strap is then tapped and the rod then attached with 10 BA bolts. the other end of the rod is then filed square 1/4" and then filed to receive the fork end.

I have made the other valve rod fork and to drill the slot hole it is held in the vice dead square by placing it on the flat steel and putting this machine vice over the top. the engine is close to completion with most of the parts made and the valve rod connections made ... they will need to be adjusted on the crankshaft though. Also a nifty tip I have thought up and tried out for when I make the inlet steam valves ... is I need to file the square on the wheel and rather than filing it I just drill a hole and use the file as a broach in the drill press and just push it through.... :) :cartwheel: this saves a lot of work ..!!
4 o'clock was just arrived as the clocks have sprung / springed forwards

From a quick look back it seems you often post well into the wee hours of middle watch.

Warrior engine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5bQzTrhtZw This is the preliminary air test and everything works OK ..so all the correct nuts and bolts need attaching and will be painting the engine with green paint ....also the crankshaft is a tad wobbly so that needs sorting out ...
