Hello, I'm a retired river boat captain that has recently traded hobbies due to health. Went from RC planes to steam engines.

Welcome to the forum!  That sounds like quite the fun profession - River Boat Captain!  Sounds like lots of stories there ;)

What kind of project are you looking at now?  Would love to see pictures of your shop too.  You can post a thread on your shop over in the "My Workshop" section of the forum so we can all see where you work/play.

I'm working on, from what I've been told, an early model of a Stuart No 9. I'm changing over from rc planes to the steam engine. I don't have a milling machine, or lathe. So, I'm hoping to find someone close to give me a hand in the machining if any is needed. Here's a picture of my project.

Looks like a fun project!  I'm sure there are many people here who could offer you advice on the engine.  I've not made a Stuart, but many people on this forum have.
