Hello from Ireland
« on: September 01, 2023, 04:04:29 PM »
I'm a farmers son living in the republic. I don't have much in the way of metalworking tools aside from an angle grinder, drill and welder, but I enjoy the problem solving approach you all have here, it's familiar to my farmyard repairs. I've often rebuilt engines, contracting out the machining of course. I have built many full size tractor implements, mostly trailers.
I'm not good with people but i figure an introduction would smooth the friction.

I didn't wish to imply i had a project, so don't hold your breath, I don't own a lathe, so unless i manage to assemble an atkinson cycle engine from used auto parts, i can't post much.

OK, not a problem :)

I was thinking that the other thread you had going on the "camless 4-stroke engine' was something you were thinking about building.  But on rereading that thread, I see that you were just putting the suggestion out there to see if anyone might be interested in the concept.

Sorry for not reading more clearly the first time! :)

Welcome to the Forum

I hope you enjoy what you see and can in the future have a lathe and start your own projects. It is possible to start without, my first oscillating steam engine was made from a car brake cylinder and some angle iron using a hacksaw and a hand held electric drill.
Best regards

Roger
