A little handicraft in between

(1/1)

Bruno Mueller:
I found a Spanish drawing from 1956 on the internet for a centre punch with a slide hammer. I thought it could be copied and put to good use.
The material was made from leftover pieces of mild steel (St52-3; S355J2 - DIN EN 10025-2). I made the point from HSS (EN ISO 4957 HS) tool steel.
The total height is 125 mm.
The drop height of the slide hammer is 38 mm.
The diameter and length of the drop hammer are 32 mm. The guide column has a Ø of 8 mm.
For aluminium and brass, it is sufficient to drop the drop hammer once to leave a clearly visible mark.
For steel, you have to repeat the process several times.

ShopShoe:
That's an interesting design and one I never have seen.

It looks like an interesting little project.

You have done a good job and it looks very nice.

Thank you for posting.
