Mike's Completed Farm Boy #876
mikehinz:
Here's my finished Farm Boy Engine, #876! I'll post a series of pix of various views of the engine followed by a few videos of it running. I'll not comment on each pix as all the necessary comments can be found in build log for this engine. Just a few notes. I added a name plate just to make sure whoever throws everything away after I'm gone, knows what it is!! Also I added a PM Research globe valve in the fuel line in order to be able to complete seal the fuel source from the carburetor.

Here's a video of the engine running with video recorded at normal speed.

And lastly here a video in slow motion. I wanted to see how many revs between hits this engine could manage. During this run, I can count somewhere between 25 and 30 revolutions between hits. I think that's pretty good, although Andrew Whale has an engine on YouTube that manages about 35 revs between hits, but I was never able to quite get to that mark. But I'm satisfied with what I was able to manage!

And that really is now it for this engine!!
Enjoy!

Kim:
Wow! That base came out beautiful!
I'm sorry the paint gave you fits, but I think the color turned out very well. And I can't see any issues from my side :)
Looking forward to the videos  ;D

Kim, the videos are up now.
This is the first engine I've built where I really tried to step up my game with respect to the final appearance. Previously I just wanted to a working engine! I think it came out pretty well, but I definitely need to step up my game with respect to paint and painting.
Thanks for taking a look!
