I do miss Eric's posts here on MEM, I hope that he is doing well.
The food looks amazing which does not surprise me, I just wish that I lived closer so I could enjoy some of it.

That's a great article!  I'll have to stop by and have some of Eric's food when I'm in Tennesee next time!

I do miss his posts and his humor here.  Hope he's doing well :)

I also miss Eric's posts here. I have been hoping he is well.

As a midwesterner, I know most of the barbecue places around here provide pulled pork and some beef, and chicken for the "no red meat" crowd. If I found myself at the Douglas place, I would be getting the catfish and frogs legs, which are somewhat rare here. (I grew up with catching the fish and frogs and Dad cooked them for us, as Mom was from the East Coast and didn't know such delacacies.)

The story brings back memories of traveling cross-country on "family vacations" in the pre-interstate-highway days where you could stop in a small town  and find such jewels of places without a corporate logo or a nationally-homogenized menu or standard decor in sight.

I've been there twice.  Great food.
