A different Winter scene
« on: January 27, 2023, 01:06:18 AM »
January 26, beautiful clear sky after the recent storms, and unseasonably warm. Too nice a day to stay home, so we went for a hike in the coastal headlands near the mouth of the Russian River.

Looking South, that's the river snaking off to the left, with Goat Rock to the right, Bodega Head beyond, and the Point Reyes peninsula just visible in the hazy distance.

Looking North.

Northern Harrier. I kept trying, and finally caught this halfway decent image. All the others are garbage.

At one point the trail was occupied by a herd of Oreo Cows, or Belted Gallaoways, a Scottish breed that likes our coastal foggy and windy climate. They even moo with a bit'o Scot's brogue.

And the calves are cute as anything.

Regards,
Ron

Beautiful scenery, Ron!   You'd never know there was a storm!
