Hello from (usually) sunny Norfolk
« on: January 25, 2023, 08:35:17 AM »
Greetings, like one or two others recently joining this site, I am a refugee from Mr Musk and heat pumps.  I am interested in all engineering topics although there is a limit.
I am mainly a loco builder, although I do make tools, if they help loco production.  I have been (at it) for 53 years now, but have started my next loco 71/4 Stanier 2-6-4 tank, basically a doubled up M Evans "Jubilee".   I have built, I think, sixteen locos, including almost completing the last of 3 71/4 ex Modelwork kits, A3, Britannia and an A4, plus mostly Martin Evans designs, although never a Simplex and including one unpublished design, a Great Eastern Railway S56 (LNER J 69) 0-6-0T, pictured in my younger days.

I have done various jobs, but finished up teaching general Science, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering in an Essex Secondary School to 11 to 18 year olds for a while.

Regards
BB

Hello Brian, welcome aboard. It's not exactly an exodus but quite a few of us have decided to try and broaden our horizons due to lack of engineering-related posts over there.

Thank you Ron, I have sold most of them mainly for space reasons, I also have quite a few wagons & coaches, so home storage is at a premium.

Hi Brian , Good to see you here  I have been on here for some time sort of showing my builds ....there is a triple expansion being serialised at the moment so it has inspired me to continue with the castings I got from you !!!
Cheers

 :hi: Brian,

Nice stable of Locos  :)

We have a bit of an odd layout here because so many of the members make "stationary engines" or rather just the often complicated engine and not all the chassis and the bodywork stuff. So we have a special area for Locos and other vehicles over here: https://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/board,47.0.html

Thank you for that Jo, and thanks also to all for the welcoming messages.
I will post here a picture of my A4, taken recently by a friend of mine, when I find it, and then, should I put details of my locos & stock where you suggested, Jo?

That area is for vehicles we are building. If you just want to show the guys what you have completed then we have the Showcase for Vehicles and models: https://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/board,44.0.html Both the Locos and the rolling stock will fit in nicely  ;)
