Is this the Model Engineering show or is it the model Railway show that is trying to attract Model Engineering stuff  :noidea:

The Model Engineering show is normally held in May   :headscratch:

Hello Jo

Back in November I posted this:

David Carpenter, the editor of Model Engineering Website (MEW), has just announced,
"Readers may have seen elsewhere that the ‘National Model Engineering Exhibition’ will return to Harrogate in February. We understand from Lou Rex, organizer of the event since 1994 that sadly they have no plans for a show either at Harrogate or Doncaster in the foreseeable future due to lack of commercial support."

Nothing has changed; Lou Rex still has no plans to run the ‘National Model Engineering Exhibition’ either at Harrogate or Doncaster in the foreseeable future. The show you are referring to, is being run by a different guy named Simon Boak. He has a colorful reputation as a show organiser to say the least. He is obviously trying to fill the void by combining a local model railway show with a local model engineering show. The Simon Boak show has nothing to do with the  ‘National Model Engineering Exhibition’ previously run by Lou Rex at Harrogate or Doncaster. They were, in effect, the northern 'Model Engineer Exhibition (MEX)'.

Like you, I am unlikely to attend, it's a long way.

Mike

Pictures of engines at the show taken today Saturday March 11th.

I enjoyed the show - excellent.

This link should take you to my Flickr album of the show with large images.

Thanks for posting the excellent photo coverage, despite the forebodings it was evidently a show full of first class model engineering to be admired.  Dave

Thank You for posting those pictures. There was a large selection of engines by the look of it and all seemed to be very well made and presented. Superb workmanship on display for sure.
