It depends if you are buying or selling  :LittleDevil:

Make sure you take cash with you and something to bring it home in it is going to be very heavy ;)

The Chinese do a AA size multifix clone that goes rather nicely on the 70

I've been into these for a while, have three and just sold a fourth so keep my eye on the market.  There is no finer lathe of its size and they are highly sought after.   They've been in production a long time so there are several styles which effects price and what it comes with can move the price by magnitudes.  And of course condition, which is always hard to tell from a photo.  Unless abused and used unlubed, condition is usually good as they are made so well and generally prized and cared for by their operators.  Anyone who's been through the watch making schools in Switzerland wants one.

Its not the newest style, but still is newer a roller bearing headstock.  The screw tailstock (vs lever) doesn't seem as common, they can go 2000 or so US.

I'd been thinking 6000+ CDN given the tooling.  Probably more in Europe.  One sold close to here for I believe 7500 that was better tooled but otherwise the same.  I know someone in BC who just imported one of the newest style, but used, for $35,000 cdn.  Mind you, was a late model and had everything....but it shows the range.  The one I sold was for 4500, zero accessories and tooling, was an older plain bearing style, but it was freshly recondition to original factory specs (every mating piece redone, spindle, tailstock barrel, bed slide rest etc)

If you can get that for 2500, what are you still doing here?

Yes, they have a beautifully balanced 2 speed motor and the base assembly provides a clutch  :)

220V and 440V 3Phase are common in industrial area's of the US.   Not that common in residential area's at all.     A VFD drive is a good way to go if you're in the US.

3P in a house is about unheard of in North America, but I agree with Dave.  A single phase transformer (like a autotransformer) can be picked up fairly inexpensively  then into a VFD is how I've done it.  I have 220 440 and 600 3P all made on site :)
