stationary boiler
Michael S.:
Hello everyone, Christmas is almost here and I would like to operate a steam engine with real steam again.
Many years ago I wanted to build a second steamer but never got around to it. But the boiler was already built. A gas burner with gas regulator is available and will be assembled as the first parts. Everything is built on a wooden board.
With some space for a steam engine.
Let's see if it will be ready by Christmas.

Beautiful boiler! What is the fuel for it, butane, propane, natural gas? Looks like a regulator on the side for adjusting the gas flow based on the boiler pressure? Is the burner one from Clevedon, or Regner?
Michael S.:
thanks Chris,
yes the yellow part is the gas pressure regulator.
The desired gas pressure is set, which is now 3.0 bar for me, and when the pressure is reached, the burner is reduced to a small flame. I hope this part still works. It's been in the closet for 20 years. The manufacturer is long gone.
The ceramic burner is from cheddar. England I think. The gas comes from the cartridge for burners from the hardware store. A butane / propane mixture.
I hope I can test the boiler soon. I'm still looking for the description for the gas regulator. Must I have filed somewhere 🤔.

Roger B:
That's a good looking boiler :) There are a couple of other vessels in the first picture. Are they also part of the system?
Michael S.:
Hello Roger,
in the background lie parts that have accumulated over time.
There is a hand pump, a feed water heater and a feed water tank.
All parts I had built years ago for other projects and weren't really used.
I hope to get to a complete steam system faster.
Michael
