I got to ask : How big was the 'Original' ?    (appears to be 3-4 times higher than a person, for the controlls to make sense)

Difficult to say: a typical sized one about 10 feet high would fit in a ferry boat, but there were two just like this one - with an extra LP cylinder- in the Titanic!

Hi ,I am continuing with my engine and I was wondering how long it took to bore out the cylinders and what speed and feed with the boring head did you use ?? mineas there is quite a lot of metal to remove  is taking a long time ?!!!

Hi Willy, good to hear that you are making progress. If you have a look at my early posts you will see that I gave up with the boring head and reverted to the old fashioned faceplate method.  Much more robust and to my liking! Unfortunately I have no recollection of speeds, feeds and time taken, as after 60 years with the tools I just speed things up until it feels right!
Best wishes.
John
