Steam Engine + Steam Hammer + Toy Caps = FUN

Finally got around to 'Bustin Caps' using my steam driven trip hammer.
Literally was a blast and did enjoy myself immensely :)

Well done Jim!
Almost into the Rube Goldberg machine territory.
I remember the smell. And the spark burns on the arms when hitting complete roll of caps with a hammer. Lovely.
Ah yes, the foolishness of youth.
Thanks for the memories.

Thanks all appreciated, they are hard to buy now these paper ones as all caps are in plastic 6 or 12 shot rings now.

Amazing how all us boys world wide hit the whole roll with hammers! boys will be boys!
Kind regards,

Jim

Love it, I have that Jensen boiler setup but a later model. It’s basically the same but a cheaper model it was mass produced. The smell of caps is still fresh to me also of my childhood memories. Love the hammer setup…..

Excellent fun    :wine1: Like the others I can immediately smell the exploded caps  :)

I don't know the Jensen engines. They seem similar to the German Wilesco ones in style.
Best regards

Thanks Roger, they were (and still are) made by Jensen -

My Grandson had a blast with this, but I have had a hard time trying to buy a box of them again anywhere.
They are on eBay for a ridiculous price -
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/226981957477?_skw=cap+gun+caps&itmmeta=01K6EG7WPSVF6ACA86TGFNSFT5&hash=item34d92dcf65:g:3-sAAeSw5bVozPaO&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA0FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1eplFhyzLw1PcIXGwhR9gVJc6lotpm3NFOjbWYMhlrPur2yGFs4kVjdKNn%2FKetnGR6W6TTGTvHBfYqWkK4tPDhQhFaUmdpkW%2BHaG6vSJm73jftZgwTImYM4NwKjiOqKOfvmv8pSVY9%2BznaVoeMmplVHwROsPmgeUK%2Biy84sau5Rs5KBkj375vc2dHu5RDTdYjcA%2BAp892R4jZJFLBXmdBgyzeV61HTMOn8sd52vVd0Ka8dW6n49NVGvpDLye8NY6tk%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR-DLn9CzZg

They seem to have all gone to being now not in a paper roll (because the toy guns aren't made like that anymore) to in a round plastic thingo like this -
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/157290791729?_skw=cap+gun+caps&itmmeta=01K6EG7WPTN5GV7QGGXX3C94SQ&hash=item249f430331:g:iaUAAeSw-hpott4i&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1e8G2aSiuUpUuv%2BTXEwqw0LZt%2BRMDmIhxhgy0eyg7g4%2BD83jMMIbE9B2G7TVSqUiLsWdKamnAU77Al2I6SeS2WaK68ZB2ZazcMeaVwd8CB3iZvZ8oL7j1L4ngOu1sA8QOcJ3S5ZW8KsrFWqDzrsnCBXBgC0CpGeBVIDHBFCRmlUlYRiP3NF5H1kVbFjlk6214D1zuEO%2FgE7QXFGErFoN2bDi%2BZb9RKfnyApAsrx47V3egc7q1kx5v2Nhua57--O8UHa%2FBNqgZ4ew%2BX9%2FsTZysJ44ELy42L98Uo%2FUIXn9tuEew%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR-LLn9CzZg

Might have to see if I can take the cap out of that?
Kind regards,

Jim

I have not seen them for years, but they seem to be readily available.

Didn't realize you were in Australia, I don't see any vendors who carry them there.

    Your text sounds normal to me!   :Jester:

I wonder if its too long a sentence in your Location field? Maybe if you abbreviate some of it?   :killcomputer:

Just shortened it right down to just 'Australia' and still nothing, thanks for the suggestion though.

This is confusing, but the information you enter under "Location" does not show up on your posts. The text that shows up on your posts under your Avatar is the "Personal Text".

Several years ago, we encouraged everyone to put their location in the "Personal Text" field in their Forum Profile. That way, people can easily see what part of the world you live in.  But it's been a while since this has come up, so it's time to talk about it again :)

So, under your Forum Profile, put your location in the "Personal Text" field.

It doesn't matter what you type in the location field because nobody will see that.  Make sense?
