Well done Mike. I am sure you will enjoy polishing those cups for the next year  ;D.

The Superba in the brown stuff is rather nice  :embarassed:

Thanks for the pictures. I wish we had more events like that here in the US. One thing caught my eye, the Garratt William Francis model. I actually started one of these in 3/4" scale. Would you know anything about the model in your photos?
I have been using this one for inspiration, it is in 5" gauge:

It might not be pleasent, but you probably need to get enough exercise to get even better - some might say : "No Pain - No Gain" ....

A VERY deserved Price you recieved there  :praise2:

I agree that the Fowler with all the tacle, deserved better too :praise2:

Hello everyone,

Thank you, one and all, for your generous comments and well wishes.  :embarassed: :embarassed: :embarassed:

For me the biggest 'prize' was feeling fit enough to attend. Paying for all that exertion today.

Some REALLY wonderful engines on display  :praise2:
and I must admit to be floored by the Goldstar  :o

Thank you for sharing

Agreed. The Goldstar was quite exceptional in the flesh. In the right photographic setting it would be taken for the real thing!

Mike's workmanship is always top quality and good to look at.

I left the show yesterday clutching a big box full of Stuart Triple Expansion Engine castings. Watch out for (yet another) new build thread... :LittleAngel:

Thanks for posting those photos Mike, enjoyed browsing through them, and congrats on winning 'First in Class' and 'Best in Show' with your Bristol Mercury Engine - jolly well done, excellent models.

Thank you John, Chris and Ron,

The Midland Show was a pick-up for me in more ways then one. I think I am just about ready to venture back into the machine shop.
That's if I can remember what I was doing.  :headscratch:

Thanks again everyone, for all your good wishes, they seem to have worked.

Cheers

Well done Mike.  I’d love to see your models some day, but it would be a journey.

Thank You Craig,

If you ever make the journey to the UK, we would make a very warm welcome for you. In the meantime, the best I can offer is a virtual visit to Vixen's Den.    https://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/topic,9272.0.html.

Hope all goes well with the reworked 'Le Craig' rotary engine. You must be approaching the first test soon?
