Beautiful work on an intriguing and unusual model as usual Chris.  It has been fascinating to follow the whole way through.

Wonderful to see it complete and working as the original.

Congratulations on another great project.

Thanks very much everyone!  This style engine has really hid a chord with everyone, was just at the pool with the RC submarines, the gange there wants a steam powered radio system and these for servos. Its so much fun to find a new-to-me kind of machine!

Wow - thats a heck of a find Dave!  Same basic pricipal of operation as this engine, but with the shafts oriented differently. I hjad not seen the Donkin brand of them before. That seller also has a triple expansion engine for sale too...

Found this video of that engine under steam, pretty good.

Are they planning on building "K" Class Subs?

I wonder if any of the early Holland ones had steering engines?

Hello Chris,

could you send me a photo of your model steering machine if it doesn't bother you too much. I would then like to print it out and hang it up next to the original machine in my little museum.

Greetings Michael

Chris, the pictures are great.
I'll print them out. And then frame.
