Hello All, I’m Jason.
I joined this forum back in 2019 when I started getting interested in model engines. I lost the link and forgot about it until I saw the link on a set of plans. Now I’ve found MEM again, I’m avidly researching engine builds for the MEM Corliss, this being my current adventure.
Prior to 2019, I had no machining experience at all, and my number of hours experience is still low as I only get to work on stuff at the weekends for limited time.
My machines are Chinese 7 x 14 mini lathe and a Precision Matthews PM-25V. The lathe I’ve managed to kill(twice), the mill is a workhorse. I started my model engine journey with a Stuart S-50, followed by the 10V. I’ve acquired a Stuart 503 boiler and after some repair work, I’ve steamed the S-50. Both took an inordinate amount of time to complete due to moving continents and real life interfering.
I look forward to learning from the enthusiasts here and posing problems that I know others have solved!
