Coo!!  A BARGAIN   .... ah, wait a minute though ....

320miles  return @ roughly 40 mpg =  8 UK gallons each at circa £8.70 ... £70 - ish ....  :'(

I shall be there in spirit only. The 'Sticky-Wotsits'  to be my ambassador.

A load of Piccies would be nice.  :)

Back to feeding Bert and Podgkins the Woodpigeon ....  ::)

Feeble excuse. What you actually mean is it will cost you £20 more to get there and back than it did last time you visited  :stickpoke: As you have not been for a few years you are still in pocket, with cash to spare  ::)

Show Update:

Mike Coles set off for the show 11am this morning and should be arriving about now. My car is packed ready to go first thing. Amongst the collection of engines I am taking the Clarkson (its not a ) Steeple engine along with me if anyone would like to see it or discuss anything :)

Look forward to seeing some of you over the weekend, if you don't come Mike Coles will have to force himself to eat all of the Sticky wot-its

Pleased to hear that Mike, so there is some hope for not having to bring the Sticky wot-its back then  ;)

Weather is looking good for the weekend not too hot and only a slight chance of a shower later on today.

Camera is in the bag so I will try to get some piccies  :) I'll be off in about an hour to make sure I get my 'spot'.   :whoohoo:

Just got back, have not yet unpacked anything.  The only thing I acquired today was a little casting which has already been nabbed  :pinkelephant:

What can I say the show is getting smaller  :( I have a few photo's to share after I recover, have my dinner and possibly watch qualifying  :slap: Or in the morning if I fall asleep  :-[  :old:

That is a very rare casting  it is a Kittywake head  ;D

Early yesterday morning I arrived at the show ground to find a gazabo next to our monkey cage. The monkey cage is a clear recognition it is our site  ;) Not having any table cloths  I set up my table:

The collection of models carefully chosen so that I could tell the tale of how Stuarts matured their vertical steam engine design and explain the different types of aero engines:

And supplemented them with some other more interesting engines:

Half an hour later Mike Coles arrived with his running stand and started by securely anchoring it to the ground:

Mike remembered his table cloths  :-[

These are all running engine so the table cloths show their use  ::) As Mike set his up Mike Tull arrived with some of the contents of the Vixen's Den:

I am not very good at taking photographs of our engines and Mike Coles only brought his running engines. Mike Tull brought a few of the bits he has been making for his engines:

And then they started playing  ::)

Slowly two other stands set themselves up with their models.

Keith from the Worthing club set up next to us with his collection of IC engines. The first of his is a desirable Stuart 800:

A Stuart 1/4 horse:

Westburys Centuar:

A nice little RLE:

And A Robinson Chippie engine:

Around this point the public started to arrive but not many  :headscratch: One MEM member sneaked into see what was going on but he was not displaying anything  :stickpoke: Enquiries about the visitor numbers got the response that they were playing cricket on the field where everyone normally parks so a number of people were not bothering  :toilet_claw:.
