Thank you - I'm told the noise is characteristic of a long stroke design but others will know if that is correct. Happy that it may bring back memories of some other first builds.

Many thanks. A bit of fun. I was inspired by realising that the engine developed some really useful torque at ca 2000 rpm and it was likely to be able to run something. I am sure people on the forum have done more useful things such as generator/dynamo drives and I'll look out to see what they did.  Ian
