I wish Chris!   I've looked under the machines and the bench     Not seeing it!!!!

It up and tight, and .003 over 35 or so inches is about as good as I can get....so I'm calling that....now to the readhead.....but first I rest my leg....major leg cramp!!!!    Not good with 30 feet of Orthopedic wire holding my patella tendon together!    Hurts!

Yeah - it's a process. You're doing great though - it will be well worth it.

Some progress made this weekend, I am working on the X axis now, ....to get the cross slide off, I had to take the saddle off.   Seems I made the new tool wall 1/4 inch too close to the lathe to move the cross slide off the saddle in the normal way.   No worries, it comes off with 4 screws...

Pictures to come

Got a little time in the shop today.....I have Samantha Bell torn down at the moment, so I decided that as long as I have the hood up, Id take some measurements......Everything is exactly where I left it 10 years ago.....I'm going to touch NOTHING....and just put the scales back on...which is good as I'll need her next week.   I'm going to get vacation and some time working on my boat!.... :whoohoo:

It's nice to just see a few polish marks on the saddle bearing surfaces with all my frost still in place.     :cartwheel: :DrinkPint:

I did find that the apron is kinda dry...like it's not getting enough lube.   I'll investigate....

I've gone back and forth dithering as to scale orientation with the cross slide.    Enough   Pick one and go!

That said I'll be putting it in like the following photo's show.   The challenge is getting to the compound lock screw and the gib screws after install.....that said, I have found putting the square head set screws for the compound back in will solve the compound lock problem.   For the gib screws, I've changed the screws over to hex head cap screws which I'll trim to a close length and be able to get to them from the top or the bottom of the scale.    I may need to make a tweek here and there, but lets get this thing together!!!

So tomorrow I'll get the Z buttoned up, and maybe get the DRO box mounted.   Then tackle the rest of the X.
