Hello, everyone,

I started machining some castings a few months ago. It will be a Reeves steam engine. It's Nicholas. A nice little bronze steam engine. I converted all measurements to millimeters. But the nuts and bolts are metric.
Please forgive me.
There are already a few videos about it. I would like to show the construction as a video and there are already a few parts to it.
Perhaps you have some time to observe the creation of the machine. I started with the base.
There are already several parts on my YouTube channel.

Michael

Nice  :)

I will be interested in seeing how you do the stand. How is your eyesight? I recall there are 14 BAs on this little beauty  :paranoia:

The stand with slideway for the crosshead was not easy to machine. I didn't know where to start. But one area had to start and then the rest followed. A lot of material had to be removed.

There must have been different cast parts for the cylinder. There were two versions in the drawing?!
The steam channels must be drilled. There were questions in the blueprint.

The last part of the construction of the machine.
I decided to renovate my workshop. Summer will be a good time for that.
The walls need to be re-plastered. The floor needs to be new. electrics new.
So let's continue in the fall.

Greetings Michael

And now it's finally going on.

Since there is probably not enough space at the two supports when the big end of the connecting rod comes past, I created a little more space.
That was purely manual work with the ball end mill.
But now the situation looks a little better and gives hope that the connecting rod will pass.
Next comes the crosshead.
In the last picture you can already see it as a blank.
It will continue tomorrow.

Yes it's fun again.
I would have liked to continue but I was invited to a campfire, mulled wine and fried fish......
