A Collection of 4 Stroke Valve Event / Cam Timing Data

<< < (2/3) > >>

RReid:
Thanks Mike, for your support and your suggestions. It's all a bit catch as catch can this week, as I'm busy with a bunch of grandkiddos.

I've converted the third section, originally meant for storing templates, to one specifically for model engine data. AVTUR's Matchless motorcycle engine data has been added to the first section. Vixen's sleeve valve data will also be added as time allows.

RReid:
I've added at least minimal date to each of the three categories (found at the opening of this topic). On the first page I've added a simple index, which may become more important if the category list, and the topic itself, grows longer. Finally, I am entering the raw data into a spreadsheet as I go, which I will also post as it becomes more developed.

Vixen:
Hello Ron,

You can easily overwrite your reply#3 to make an additional category. Or you could ask one of the forum's 'mods' to add a few blank replies at the start, for you.

Mike

RReid:
Several more diagrams have been added. Most recently is Achim (fumopuc)'s Bruce Macbeth Engine, added to the Model Engines category. Thanks Achim!

Many Thanks also to Mike (Vixen) and AVTUR.

Feel free to submit any valve event data you may have, even if it is only IO-IC-EO-EC numbers, preferable with a note whether relative to crank or to cam rotation (most published data seems to be relative to crank rotation).

If anyone has any data for an engine with atmospheric intake valves I'd be interested in that as well. I could make a guess about the intake timing for these, and that may be all the engineers back in the day had as well, but...

RReid:
I've added a few more diagrams recently. Also I've switched from inserting the diagrams as attachments to posting them as hosted images. This change avoids the 8 attachment per page limit. I added links to the "Where to Find Stuff" list on the first page; clicking those will open the linked page in a new window.
