Posting Fairness

Jo

As you pointed out to close a recent post ‘ this is a site for model engineering’
How do you justify gardening as part of ME.
I to have an interest in gardening and wildlife, and a member of RSPB.
But as an administrator you need to be fair.

I am not sure which post you refer to but I suspect it was this one:

There are lots of challenges in the world at the moment most, not all, can be tracked back to covid.

This forum is all about making model engines so please lets stick to making our models and leave the politics to other places  :)

Jo

It was posted on the purchasing metal thread that had headed off into the field of politics  . We have a ban on discussing politics here because it causes heated arguments and bad feelings.

The "gardening" thread and the "Not a model engine" are both in the Chatterbox area.

Couldn't possibly agree more with Jo.

There are plenty of places to discuss politics on the web.    Here isn't one of them.

This place is about comradery and "creative vents" with a focus on model engines.   It's been that way since we opened it, and it is as it should be.

Same on ME no Sex Politics or Religion apart from that anything seems to go in tea room, chatterbox or whatever each forum calls it. If you are not into that type of content then just avoid that part of the forum.

I would think that based on the few posts prior to Jo's most knew what she meant as not for the forum.

But that outrageously discriminates against those of us who drink coffee like proper people.

I suppose you could order/drink coffee in a tea room, as long as it's not that instant rubbish, but it's not really the done thing Old Boy!!

We shouldn't have to suffer the indignity of ordering coffee in a tea-room where we are exposed to ridicule from the locals. We need to stand for our right to a proper coffee lounge!

You get yours in the wrong place then: Ours comes with a slice of cake and/or some biscuits for £1 and you can have as many top ups as you like dare  :-X .

Edit: I should also mention that the highest price I paid (on expenses  ::) ) for coffee was at the airport in Paris I think it was E7.50  Even dearer than in Sweden or Switzerland.

I'll admit, the bold signage on many establishments which plainly identifies them as Tea Rooms can be a bit ambiguous, and perhaps even purposefully misleading. so to snare the trusting.

We shouldn't have to suffer the indignity of ordering coffee in a tea-room [snip]

I just love the signs above the Brit bars in Benidorm. 'We only serve Nescafe Instant!'
