That makes perfect sense and matches the figures I have. I did wonder as the values are very close to half (i.e. sleeve crank vs piston crank). I looked at the diagram alone and that's what threw me. In the manual there's a very similar looking diagram but timings in tat are WRT the crankshaft angle.

I just came across this rather nice Solidworks animation based on the Bristol Hercules. Though this thread has been quiet for over a year, it seems like the best place to post it. I especially enjoy the way it adds layers of complexity as the animation progresses.
