Thanks Dave,
I should be good. My son is coming with me.  I'll give you a call when I get there and maybe we can set up next to each other.

I am not going to make it.  :'( Yesterday I cleaned up a couple models, loaded my car, packed  my cloths and went to bed early to be up for the 9 hour drive.

But I could not sleep and kept worrying about the Covid risk. I will be 80 in April, so  I am in the high risk group, and everything I read says this is not a good time to mix in large crowds. And somehow I feel the CF crowd is not likely to be wearing a lot of masks.

So, with great reluctance I decided not to go. I have attended every CF show, (and every NAMES except #1), and a few ME shows in London, so clearly I like shows, but I just dont feel good about it now.

So, sorry guys, I wont see you this weekend.

The weather looks good for Saturday so I plan to be there at opening.  Is anyone interested in setting up next to each other?

I think you have to do what makes you feel safe - I wanted to go as well but I'm just not ready to put myself in this environment just yet. I just did a 2 week trip to the UK which involved all kinds of testing and red tap. Managed to get there and back covid free, so I sort of feel like I'm pushing my luck if I attend this year.

So I shall look forward to next year! Everyone going please stay safe, and have a really good time. I do hope you'll share pictures of what you show and what you see.
Stuart

Forging ahead regardless.

Thanks Art, hopefully I can get a table adjacent to you guys.  If you see a guy with a black  ďDonít Tread On MeĒ shirt wondering around with a wheeled cooler at 8:00a, it will be me looking for a place to set up.

Reluctantly Iím staying home too.  I really wanted to get there this year, havenít been for various reasons for around three now, but canít afford to bring Covid home to a family member with a compromised immune system.

I will be late to the party if I even get there at all.  We just lost power and it is 4 below zero.  I canít leave my wife and kids in this situation.  Right now we have one leg suppling power.

OK, how about a show report. Was there a good crowd? lots of vendors? Anyone post a video yet?

I missed the show, but I have to see some video at least.

I attended Saturday as an exhibitor. As expected, due to Covid-19, the show was much smaller then years past. There were quite a few open exhibitor spaces. However, given the circumstances, I would say there was a decent amount of spectators.

Both the exhibitors and spectators were a pleasure to interact with. Itís just a really great group of people that attend this show and I highly recommend it.

It was nice to meet Art, as well as see Dave, Scott and George again.  Georgeís son Kirt was great to talk with.  Heís a Foxbody Mustang guy also.  Bob Shutt and his brother Matt were set up behind me and you couldnít ask for a pair nicer guyís.  Bob lent me his alcohol burner so I could run my Poppin at Kirtís request.  My daughter was with me and everyone was just as nice as could be to her.  We really had a nice time.

Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures.

I searched you tube and found a couple 2022 videos. Mainly they seemed to be looking at the dirt pile and all the R/C machines.

I did notice, as I expected, almost no one was wearing a mask. I only saw a handful of them in several minutes of video. There will of course be no way to tell how many cases of Covid were passed on, since the people will return to places over several states, but I suspect there will be many cases.

I am still annoyed that I had to miss the show, since I  had never previously missed one. But since I am 5 weeks into radiation treatments for an oral cancer, I guess I did the right thing. My doctor agrees. I will look forward to next year.
