Spotted a Myford lathe for sale...
« on: October 29, 2022, 08:42:47 AM »
As Myford lathes and their equipment feature quite heavily in the tooling discussions, I use a Myford Super 7, might interest some that a very well tooled S7 with the gearbox and power x feed is being offered today by the Lincolnshire trader in models and gear ( SRS ) at a price that might perhaps tempt someone looking to put a Myford in their 'shop.   Disclaimer of any interest.  Dave

There was a Myford with all the bells & whistles on a factory stand, I believe with a gearbox, it had everything.
It was on Portland Oregon Craigslist.
I believe asking price was $3500 or so.
I looked again a few hours later, it was gone.
Sure didn’t last long.

I forgot to add, this was about a month ago, and it looked like new.

Wow!  You don't often see equipment like that available in this area!

Boy no kidding Kim.
I think it was across the River in Camas.
I check Craigslist often for *interesting* stuff. It had just been listed.
And had a lot of photos, decided I wanted to copy a few of them a couple hours later, but it was gone.
Back in pre-internet days I used to buy parts from Blue Ridge Machinery for my DB200, they were a Myford dealer at the time, & I wanted one, but I did not have that much $$ for a hobby. Settled for a used SB9.
Also bought stuff from Sobel Machinery, change gears, steady rest for my SB9, & misc things.
In those days I would buy parts mail order from shops that advertised in the Home Shop Machinist.
Much easier now with internet. Almost too easy.

Just in case it is a little obscure as to what is being sold State-side, and what here in Britain, I'll put the link in ;    it was still on the SRS site this evening. Dave
