Jacktown Antique Engine Show (Bangor, Pa). Oct 16 & 17
« on: October 07, 2021, 12:25:26 AM »
The Fall show is Saturday and Sunday October 16 & 17 in Bangor, Pa

They have a little bit of everything including model engines.   I’ll be there Saturday and possibly Sunday.  I usually set up my engines around noon in the pavilion by the entrance.  There is also a  group of modelers that set up near the train.

Here is a link to the website that includes a flyer for the show.

Despite a questionable weather forecast, I plan to attend tomorrow.  I will likely also attend Sunday.

First off, thank you for taking the time to post pictures. And posting pictures like the ribbon braiding machine, come on! I would have spent a half hour looking at it. I love stuff like that because that would probably be the first and last time I would ever see something like that in operation. Again thank you!

Thanks for all those. I do like the Improved Rider engines that you started off with, quite fancy doing one of those rather than the usual concentric cylinder ones.

Seems like it was a great show!  Loved the braiding machine - would have loved to see that thing in operation. Looks fascinating!

Thanks for posting the pics,

Thank you for taking and posting these great photos. It looks a fine show, wonderfully rural and relaxed. I visited the Jarrell Plantation in Georgia in 2003. They have  a couple of old engines in wooden sheds, lots of old interesting machinery etc,  including a sawn off car chassis used as a power plant like the one pictured .   This post took me back there.....great memories :)  Thank you again.       Terry

Thanks everyone for looking in.

It’s a neat little show.  I always enjoy it.

The braiding machine is very cool to watch.  It’s amazing to watch it shuffle the bobbins around.  If I had the time, I would love to model it.

The Buffalo Springfield roller is another one I love.  It has a Hercules four cylinder gas engine.  It would take me a lifetime to model it.

It looks desolate because I took most of the pictures when the gates opened.  Also, the weather delayed people from coming early.

I just got back home from day two at the show.  I have a few more pictures to put up later.

Clearly a great show.  Thanks for posting the pictures.

Interesting to compare the printing press with today’s printer.
