I just had to post this vise Dave (Steamer) built for me. It is Dave's built and my sanding and polishing. I have wanted a vise like this for quiet a while, all on the market are cheap and lack rigidity. This is a precision vise and opens to 2.5 inches. Dave did an awesome job of building it. Stunning work by both of you. 

Of course, getting a bit of oil on it is fine.  It will give you twice the reward, first from the joy of using a well made item, and then the joy of polishing it a bit more!
