It is easy to see why poshly engraved watches cost so much with the amount of time/effort needed to turn the pattern onto that piece :paranoia:

Interesting!  And a very fine machine. Just imagine the anguish of turning the wrong handle or feed dial when you were 95% though an otherwise perfect piece of guilloche engraving! Dave

Yep, I have wondered about using the CNC mill for this with the spindle off.

Chris from Clickspring has published another video of the Rose Engine in use. Looking at the amount of material he is removing diamond drag engraving on the CNC mill is a non-starter (at least that takes something off the 'to do' list). Beautiful work as always:
