On my way to work this morning
« on: September 13, 2021, 11:53:56 AM »
Standing by the footpath on my way to work this morning was this fine steam launch. It was built by the retired technical services manager of my employer however it is usually locked away in it's shed or under it's protective cover. The sun was rather low making photography difficult.

It has a single cylinder main engine with a toothed belt drive to the propeller shaft, a separate feed water pump, a complicated device for filling the kettle and plenty of dials and gauges.
Best regards

Roger

Beautiful woodwork, beautiful engine, lots of shiny copper, brass and mahogany and plenty of dials and gauges.

Too nice to be covered and locked away, but far to tempting to leave out in the open for long.

Thanks for bringing it to us Roger

Mike
It is the journey that matters, not the destination

Sometimes, it can be a long and winding road

Looks like a beautiful boat!  I see an engine driven pump as well as a reciprocating pump as well!

I haven't seen it in action, only 'official' powered craft are allowed on our local lake. I know that Koni trailers it all around Switzerland to the lakes where he is allowed to use it.

Wow the kettle filler on the boiler is absolutely brilliant! Instant tea whenever Shame I don’t have a big enough boiler (yet) but an espresso head and milk frothed would be a nice addition
