Wow! Very nice!So was this a kit of some kind? Or did you design and build each part?Kim
I am plagued by emails from a Chinese company called Stirlingkit. They try to sell me various model i/c engine kits similar to this.Is this one of their products?Do you know that company?Trevorc
A lot of effort vent into constructing this one Sounds nice.
Thats a sweet little engine! Well done!
breadf, Nice engine.Do you have any photos of the parts actually being machined by yourself ?Mike
Hello Rhett / breadf,Thank you, Now I understand. You have made an excellent design, a V12 is not an easy engine. It is good that you can outsource the 3D printing and CNC machining, if you cannot do all the machine work yourself. It is quicker but more expensive than doing it yourself.Do you have plans to bring the V12 engine into mass production? Do you have an indication of the cost of the V12 engine, as a kit of parts. Also, an indication of the cost of a fully assembled engine?Do you have a selling agent? It looks to be a beautifully designed and well manufactured engine, so it could become a popular kit for model engine builders.RegardsMike
That's some excellent work Is the carburettor a commercial unit?
Quote from: Roger B on September 15, 2021, 05:16:13 PMThat's some excellent work Is the carburettor a commercial unit?Hello Roger,I'm pretty certain it is a copy of a Walbro WY series , rotary barrel, diaphragm carburetor. Which specific model no, I cannot tell, as there are a number of different choke diameters in the WY series.I have a WYK-33 fitted to my Honda GX32 tank engine and also to one of my Bristol Mercury engines. I think they are one of the best diaphragm carbs available. They run straight out of the box and I have never needed to touch the two factory set adjustment screws. The rotary barrel rotates and lifts when the throttle is opened, this lifts the needle to give more fuel as the revs increase. It does that rather well. I would recommend a WYK for any engine over about 20/ 25cc. They are dirt cheap on e-bayMike
If I could work that fast I’d have my models built in no time Seriously, a fantastic job. Well done!
